Crystal Vielula
Crystal Vielula is a San Francisco-based artist and art educator. Vielula has been teaching visual art to San Francisco youth for fourteen years. Vielula has been involved as a muralist with Clarion Alley Mural Project for over decade, and her illustrations are wrapped on public trash cans throughout San Francisco. In 2019, she was selected as a San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority (SFMTA) Muni artist. Her work has been profiled in the San Francisco Chronicle, KQED Arts, Broke-Ass Stuart’s website, and The Fight Magazine. She had a recurring column on The Bold Italic called “Drawn from the City,” which featured interviews and illustrated portraits of interesting people in San Francisco. She is the creator of five self-published coloring books and illustrated a children’s book called A More Graceful Shaboom, published in 2020. She works with a variety of mediums including but not limited to collage, paint, pen and ink, acrylic, textiles, and ceramics.
